My largest drawing to date, Acid Test repurposes the brown craft paper that cover my drawing surfaces. In this case, the paper is from the Spring and Summer of 2016, reflecting a dark and complicated personal life and a robust creative chapter in my studio. The blotter paper becomes ledger and diary of the seasons; detailing the inky discharge from the various compositions with the scribbled phone notes and internet research that took place throughout. Piecing the blotters together creates a vast and chaotic space. The white gouache overlay of peonies bring the worlds together in a way that I see as retrospective and provocative. 2016-2026
